¡¡¡¡ Jul 1st, 2004 - Dayang Technology Development Inc. announces that Dayang and its Taiwan distributor, Shangyang Media Science & Technology Co. Ltd. have won the Taiwan ERA TV Project for the comprehensive solutions of digital news gathering, editing and broadcasting. It is expected to be the first large scale news network in Twaiwan which combines AV data with written texts.
As one of the big names in Taiwan¡¯s Cable TV market, Taiwan ERA TV has enjoyed a high reputation on its insightful, fast and accurate news reports. In response of the increasing demand for news production and the intense call for live news, ERA decided to adopt the digitalized and networked project based on the news script system and nonlinear system. At the same time, news resource becomes more verified, ranging from satellite signal, local signal, AV and text script transported from Tainan city and Taizhong city. Dayang provides the on-demand solution for ERA with the distinctly convenient laptop NLE system.
This system is based on the advanced Dayang network technology DayangNet 2.0, adopted the new technology like the laptop NLE system, long distance VPN transmission, card dubbing, trans-coding, etc. This news network includes 26 online workstations, 80 network editing workstations, 70 potable workstations, and 4 trans coding workstations. The studio broadcast equipment is operated by 2 Profiles, the central storage adopts the world class S2A 6000, withthe total online capacity of 10 TB.
Since the text scrip software has a long history in Taiwan and is still widely used by ERA staff, Dayang modifies the software in order to meet the customers¡¯ demand and soon takes the favorable position in Taiwan market.
Promoted by the project, Dayang also makes significant progress in integrating the news system with the character generation systems. The success of this project marks the good beginning of Dayang¡¯s news script system and a good start in Taiwan market.
